Coastline Group of companies is one of the Maldives’ largest private companies, established in 1994. It is engaged in logistics, oil importing, storage and distribution, pilling and construction, building material supplies, hotel resort development, condominium development, airport ownership, development and operation, luxury yachts and boat manufacturing. It is the largest importer and distributor of Fuel Related Products such as Marine Gasoil and Mo Gas to resorts in the Maldives servicing 65% of the resorts in the country through their company Asian Gasoil.
The Amilla and Finolhu island resorts are owned and currently being developed by Coastline Investments in a collaborative effort involving international architects and designers and some of the most experienced resort minds from the Maldives.
Senior members of the management team led by Chairman Mr Ahmed Umar Maniku and supported by directors Sabeena Ahmed Maniku and Fulu Hussain Mohamed are highly regarded members of the Maldives business community. Mr Ahmed Maniku along with his brothers and other family members are also substantial shareholders in the largest hotel and travel company in the Maldives. The family has a long and distinguished heritage in the resort sector and has now branched out on its own in the resort development and ownership space.
Their most recent development has been the design and development of Mudhdhoo island in Baa Atoll, which was subsequently acquired by Dusit Thani Hotels group in September 2011 with Coastline Investments holding a minority share. Key members of the Coastline group have been involved in the construction and development of W Maldives , Huvafen Fushi and many other resorts. Resort and hotel development is now a very important focus for the company to become the pre-eminent hotel and resort company in the Maldives, which is proudly Maldivian and internationally recognised.
